Corinthian Insurance Company Limited is a wholly owned subsidiary of HSBC Insurance Holdings Limited, which in turn is a wholly owned subsidiary of HSBC Holding Plc.
Corinthian was initially operated as a Lloyd's motor syndicate and was known as Corinthian Policies at Lloyds. It commenced trading in 1964. The syndicate was acquired by HSBC for the commencement of the 1996-year and now trades as Corinthian Insurance Company Limited. Martyn Capewell FCII, deputy Underwriter of the syndicate since 1987, was appointed Chief Executive of the new entry in 1996. The head office is based in Barking, Essex, with claims offices in Norwich and Birmingham.
