VOLKSWAGEN TO LAUNCH VAN ACADEMY

Volkswagen Van Academy

The vehicle manufacturer Volkswagen has announced that it will introduce a new training initiative, called the Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles Academy.

This has been established to help all members of staff throughout the national Volkswagen Van Centre network to have the training, skills and motivation needed to provide an excellent level of service to customers.

There are a number of courses available, with most taking place at the Volkswagen Group National Learning Centre (NLC) in Milton Keynes which offers state-of-the-art computer facilities and visual training aids.

An automotive technician accreditation will be given to van centre workers, of which there are over 70 in Britain, if they come through a training programme and young employees can gain an advanced apprenticeship programme for service and parts.

Other qualification courses are being devised for Volkswagen Van Centre management, sales, aftersales and administrative staff.

Academy manager Fiona Baldwin said: "The courses have been devised to provide a structured development and training programme to meet the specific requirements of the individual.

"We are confident the training will result in a level of customer service unparalleled in the commercial vehicle sector."
