VAUXHALL SCORES VAN AWARD
There was success for Luton-based Vauxhall's vans in the recent Fleet World and Commercial Fleet World Honours 2006.
Adding to the Vectra Estate winning the Best Estate Car award, the company's Vivaro van won the Best Medium Van accolade and the Combo was chosen the Best Light Van.
Commenting on the Vauxhall Vivaro decision, John Kendall, editor of Commercial Fleet World, said: "It's hard to believe that the Vivaro has been with us for almost five years. The revolutionary looks shook the panel van sector up and it still looks fresh and modern today.
"It's just as forward thinking on the inside, with great attention to drivers' needs in the cab. There's plenty of stowage, a driving position that is arguably more car-like than any of its rivals and a dashboard design that is ergonomically sound as well as eye-catching."
The Vauxhall Combo won the Best Light Van award for the second year in succession.
These honours are presented to vehicle manufacturers who, in the view of the judges, have achieved the highest level of excellence in their sector.
